Apportionment Damages Act 34
AMEW 8 August 2025 Insurance

Apportionment Damages Act 34, 1956, Short-term Insurance. Understanding this Act will disappoint you. Those having car insurance take note: should you be in a car accident, even though it is not your fault, according to this Act the other party’s (3rd party) insurer may keep you up to 40% liable for the damages their client caused. It is law.

So whether you have insurance or not, try to avoid an accident. If you do not have insurance you are even worse off. This Act does not apply unless your car is parked.
